Ksenia Luki
Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, and sound healing practitioner, based in Los Angeles.
Biography
Music entered Ksenia’s life early, first through singing and then through music school, where she studied piano. After leaving formal music education, she turned toward the Russian folk vocal tradition and spent several years performing with an ensemble. At thirteen, she taught herself to play guitar and soon found her way into songwriting.
She later stepped away from music for a period of time and pursued a degree in communications, graduating from university in 2009. In the years that followed, her path led more deeply into spiritual practice and healing work. She became a yoga teacher, Reiki Master Teacher, and bodyworker, and over time these practices began to reshape the way she understood sound, creativity, and the role of music in her life.
When she returned to songwriting and performance in 2016, she brought that perspective with her. Music was no longer separate from her spiritual practice, but had gradually become one of the ways she explored and expressed it.
Her work draws from a wide range of influences, including folk traditions, mantra, prayer, icaros, improvisation, and her studies of the healing traditions of the Amazon rainforest. On stage, she moves between voice and multiple acoustic instruments, exploring different textures as she shifts from one instrument to another throughout a set.
Ksenia released her debut single, “Atman,” in 2018, followed by her first album, Grow, in 2019. She is currently working on her next album, while her music continues to evolve through the many threads of her life — heritage, spiritual path, service, travel, and an ever-deepening exploration of sound.
